In case you missed her introduction, check out Ms. Lauren’s first appearance on the blog here. She was so kind to let me play stylist and personal shopper for the day. Styling is pretty easy when you have a gorgeous and willing muse. I think Lauren has been converted after convincing her to buy a blazer and a pair of jeans, which by the way, felt like one of the biggest achievements of my life and I was one proud mama! Girlfriend did not have a single blazer in her closet before. When I heard that, my ears started bleeding. Off to Target we went. Lauren’s closet: plus one blazer. Kristi’s ear’s: music. We call that WINNING.
P.S. Remember to check out Renee’s (Lauren’s mom) store Dazzl, especially if you are in the Atlanta area!
Jacket: J.Crew / Shirt: Saint James via J.Crew (similar here and here) / Pants: Loft / Shoes: Steve Madden via TJ Maxx (similar here and here) / Clutch: Ann Taylor (similar here and here) / Necklace: J.Crew (similar here)
I was crazy for these crazy pants at J.Crew, but not their crazy price (I know the ultimate crazy pant queen, Tiffany Rose at A Trail of Sequins will appreciate this post). So when I went to make a return at Loft (they were so sweet to send me two of the same order), I couldn’t help but notice this very similar pair for less than half the price! AND they were an additional 40% off! I think the people at Ann Taylor and Loft secretly mess up my orders to bait me into the store so I will end up buying more. I’m onto you Ann. I see this little game of cat and mouse you are playing…did I mention I love cats.
P.S. If you shop online, don’t forget to use ebates and check sites like retailmenot for coupon codes (they have printable versions available also) for extra savings!
So, apparently I have never really lived until this past weekend. For those of you following me on Instagram, you might know what I’m talking about. Over the holiday weekend, my life long dream of meeting Eddie Vedder came true AND I tasted a macaron (not to be confused with macaroon, see here) for the first time! I know, right? What the hell have I been doing for the last 30 years up until now? Well, now that I have tasted this delicious, sweet pastry I am officially obsessed. And I hear that Laduree are the mac daddy of macarons, so naturally I would like to fly to Paris or NYC just to try one. That sounds reasonable, right?
