Swing Skirt

Sweater: Old Navy  /  Skirt: Kate Spade via TJ Maxx (similar here) /  Shoes: Colin Stuart via Victoria Secret (similar here) /  Bag: Mango (similar here)  /  Sunnies: Anthropologie (similar here)  /  Jewelry: Stella & Dot necklace, Forever 21 chain necklace (old), Stella & Dot chain necklace  /  Belt: Banana Republic (old, similar here and here)

Don’t worry,  I’m not swapping husbands with another lady and I’m not showing off my dance skills today, I’m just really into this skirt’s swing-y silhouette.  Usually, I’m all about the pencil skirt, but I was at TJ Maxx the other day during a “lunch break”  and I found this Kate Spade skirt.  It was just my size, came in this cute pattern, had full lining, and built-in pockets!  My name might as well have been sewn into the tag.  I found pairing this full skirt with edgier accessories, like chain necklaces and ankle strap heels, kept it from becoming too Stepford wife-ish.  Mama’s found a new skirt style!  Mama’s also started referring to herself in the third person and as “Mama” apparently…

P.S. Accessories can change the vibe of your look and they are a cost-effective way to change your wardrobe!  Pearls and pumps would have given this look a different feel.  Try mixing up your baubles the next time you’re getting ready:)

    • Thanks Dina! The best TJ Maxx’s are the ones with the “runway” sections in them. They have all the designer goodies marked down to fab prices. Other times, you just have to be ready to go through the racks:) xo
