The holidays are upon us, tis the season to be merry and go to parties!  While everyone usually opts for dresses, I like to dare to be different and wear pants.  Obviously, they are a warmer option and allow for more fluid, freestyle movements.  You never know when you might hear Matthew Wilder’s “Break My Stride” and want to break out in a sick solo dance routine at a party.  Just sayin’.  Food for thought:  this also happens to be my go to karaoke song.  Oh yeah, it’s impressive.  Anywho, today I give you my version of taking a day look into night by changing a few pieces.  Switching out the jeans for leather pants and adding a punchy red shoe alter the look for nighttime.  You could switch the blazer for a sequin cardi, if you have one.  Don’t forget to add a bright red lip and some sparkly jewels to complete your look!  Thanks a ton to the ever brilliant and gorgeous Samantha at Sam ipsa Loquitur and her Plaid Leopard Lumberbiker post for being the inspiration behind this look!

TIP:  Don’t have time for a complete outfit change for a party?  Pops of red can help change your look!  Add red lips, shoes or a bag.  Even all the above! Keeping extra jewels, like a necklace or arm candies, in your purse comes in handy  too:)

  1. Awwww GIIIIIIRRRRRLLLLLL!!! Thanks for the shout out. Between the puppy/shoe pic and sick solo move-bustin’ (my go-tos are the sprinkler and the chicken dance… little known fact: both can be done to any beat) and the plaid there’s nothing I don’t love about this post. But I HAVE TO KNOW the name of that lipstick. Is it up there and I just missed it?

  2. Love the blazer with the plaid! My dog recently chewed holes in my lone plaid shirt so I’m really needing to get a new one. Love the cute pic of you and your dog’s feet too 🙂

  3. You know what’s funny? I saw this shirt at J.Crew this weekend and almost bought it and thought, who do I know that has this? And then I see this post and am reminded. It’s crazy what a little heel can do for an outfit. You pulled off two great looks, lady! Well done!
