What is black, white and spotted all over? Well, my friends, today it is me! And my kick ass knock-off shirt from F21 (very similar to this one from J.Crew). Thank heavens for places like F21 and Target. What would a girl on a budget do with out ’em? Go naked I guess. What an interesting and R-rated blog that would make. Lucky for you and me, these stores do exist and we can find doppelgängers of our fave clothes at half the prices of the originals. I fell in love with this bag at J.Crew, but like a freshman getting denied by a senior, our love affair was ended immediately when I saw the price. Thankfully, I saw this similar tote at Target. Have I mentioned the shoes yet? Thank you Prabal. Looking at them, I thought they might choke any and all blood supply to my feet, but alas they are one comfy pair of heels. Affordable + Fashionable + Comfortable = Charlie Sheen’s favorite word (winning, duh).
TIP: Pair a red or bold lip with neutral/classic colors and a nude or light pink lip with bright colors!

The holidays are upon us, tis the season to be merry and go to parties! While everyone usually opts for dresses, I like to dare to be different and wear pants. Obviously, they are a warmer option and allow for more fluid, freestyle movements. You never know when you might hear Matthew Wilder’s “Break My Stride” and want to break out in a sick solo dance routine at a party. Just sayin’. Food for thought: this also happens to be my go to karaoke song. Oh yeah, it’s impressive. Anywho, today I give you my version of taking a day look into night by changing a few pieces. Switching out the jeans for leather pants and adding a punchy red shoe alter the look for nighttime. You could switch the blazer for a sequin cardi, if you have one. Don’t forget to add a bright red lip and some sparkly jewels to complete your look! Thanks a ton to the ever brilliant and gorgeous Samantha at Sam ipsa Loquitur and her Plaid Leopard Lumberbiker post for being the inspiration behind this look!
TIP: Don’t have time for a complete outfit change for a party? Pops of red can help change your look! Add red lips, shoes or a bag. Even all the above! Keeping extra jewels, like a necklace or arm candies, in your purse comes in handy too:)
I couldn’t go this week without showing some love for my Gramps and not my Gram too! So here I am cleverly sporting my Grandmother’s sparkly brooch for a little neck bling. I’m pretty sure she wore this as lapel bling back in her day. Although this is probably not how she wore this jewel encrusted pin, I’m giving new life to this vintage piece by pairing it with my chambray shirt, zebra print mini and fold over boots. I hear you aren’t suppose to wear high boots with mini skirts; it can make you look, you know, not lady like. It’s all about innovation and expansion people! Where would we be without the bishop sleeve or the cone bra? Ok, maybe that’s not the same thing…
