So, apparently I have never really lived until this past weekend. For those of you following me on Instagram, you might know what I’m talking about. Over the holiday weekend, my life long dream of meeting Eddie Vedder came true AND I tasted a macaron (not to be confused with macaroon, see here) for the first time! I know, right? What the hell have I been doing for the last 30 years up until now? Well, now that I have tasted this delicious, sweet pastry I am officially obsessed. And I hear that Laduree are the mac daddy of macarons, so naturally I would like to fly to Paris or NYC just to try one. That sounds reasonable, right?
Was at Alon’s bakery near Perimeter Mall & saw a treat that looked identical to these in all kinds of colors/flavors! Didn’t know what they were called but guess they are macarons! Judy FYI if you need a fix closer to home 🙂
Thank you so much Amy! I can’t wait to go there! Looks like Alon bakery will be my second home soon;) xo
Welcome to a long-term relationship with macarons 🙂 And thanks for linking to my post!
LOL! Yes, macarons and I are committed now;) And you are very welcome! Thanks for the great post!
Welcome to the world of Macaron Lovers!!!:) Happy to have you! I had some of the tastiest macarons last spring at a Nordstrom grand opening. I still remember them, which means they must have been good.

Nordstrom???? Clothes and macarons? I will be setting up permanent residence there asap! Thanks for the tip love;) xo
I love macaron!
Me too!
They look so yummy. Every time I see them I want to try one and it makes me sad because of my gluten allergy. Oh well maybe I can find one thats gluten free 🙂
XO,

The ones I tried were gluten free! I’m sure you will have your moment too Zahanna! Don’t give up:)
I love macarons so much I took an all-day class and learned how to make them!
Trust me, me baking is a big deal. 🙂
Cheers,
Laura
Oh, wow! I briefly read how to make them and I was defeated just from glancing at the instructions:) I’m very impressed you took a class!
In the class they tell you all the little secrets that the recipes never tell you. Like that your eggs need to be aged…which means don’t use farm fresh eggs and once you separate the whites let them sit covered for a couple of days on a counter top not the in the fridge. After all the secrets are shared they aren’t that tough. 🙂
Cheers from your fellow macaron lover!
Laura
Love macarons ! There’s a bakery close to my home that makes some and I just want to try every single flavour… several times !!!
My Blog – A Pretty Nest
If I had a bakery around the corner that sold these, I would be in serious trouble.
I’m a macaron virgin! But I can confidently say that’s not going to last long now. Holy mother of rainbow delicious get in my mouth.

Thank you for the welcome! I only wish I had found this wonderful world sooner! Thanks for all your support too:) xoxo
Come to NYC and we can have a blogger play date a.k.a. eat macarons and shop! lol
xoxo
Nicole
OMG, I would love that! I might be coming in September if IFB does another blogger conference. I would love to meet up and eat macarons! And shop;) xo
Ooo yay! Keep me updated if you decide to go to the conference and I’ll go too, then we can plan a day! 🙂
Seconding (is that a word?) Amy C’s suggestion: Alon’s has really great macarons, and the lemon is my fave-fave. It’s not Laduree, but on the bright side, no loooong lines, either!
